Eftagine made her runway debut at Milan Fashion Week SS19, walking for Prada. She also walked for Cavalli, Valentino and Courrèges.  We asked some quick-fire questions to get to know her better…

Did you always want to be a model?

Yes, ever since I was a little girl. I would always walk around the house wearing my older siblings’ heels whilst posing in the mirror.

How did you get into modelling?

I was contacted by an agent and was asked if I could visit the agency for an open call.

If you weren’t a model, what career would you have?

I think I would like to explore a career in marketing, or as a creative director.

If you could change one thing about the modelling industry what would it be?

I would want more equal diversity on the runway. And in campaigns, magazines, etc.

What does your working day look like?

Very busy! Checking Emails, running to castings and doing shoots etc.

You made your runway debut last month in Milano, walking for Prada SS19. How did you feel on the runway?

A little nervous… it felt surreal. I was in a “wow” moment the whole time. When I was walking, it felt like I was in a dream.

Talk us through your time at Milan & Paris fashion weeks.

Waking up early for castings, a lot of running around and getting lost. Chatting with other models and having the opportunity to meet casting directors. There are lots of people to meet.

Where do you see yourself in five years’ time?

Hopefully travelling the world and working more.

What’s the best advice you’ve been given?

Not to be a follower, and not to set limits on what I can achieve.

Tell us something about yourself we don’t know?

My childhood nickname was Gig. My family used to call me that… and I hated it.

How do you switch off?

Hm good question. I think that would be mainly with music.

Finish the sentence. My favourite item of clothing I own is…

Blue denim jeans and my leather jacket.
